"During a concentrated four days at Ashland in Wisconsin's northernmost county, producer interviewed twenty-seven residents about the history, life style, and social conflicts of the area. Twenty hours of tape recording were sorted and edited into a half-hour oral profile of the city. "The purpose of the series is to preserve for researchers a community's heritage as recollected by its residents; to provide the area with an organized historical perspective of its past; and to present to the state audience a history of a cross-section of its communities."--1975 Peabody Awards entry form.
