"Shortly after the unsuccessful invasion of Cuba, Jon Donald interviewed Dr. Jose Figueres [i.e., Jos? Figueres Ferrer], former President of Costa Rica and a leading member of the democratic left in Latin America. Dr. Figueres revealed that Latin America did not approve of the Cuban intervention, an opinion not widely circulated in the United States at the time."--1961 Peabody Awards entry form.
