Episode Description
"Sam and Sally talk together discussing plans for a neighborhood picnic. Sam becomes irritated because Sally dominates the conversation. [Finally,] Sam tells Sally to stop talking and making all the decisions for the picnic. Feeling hurt, Sally walks away. Sam becomes sad and says, 'Now I hurt her feelings and I feel terrible too... Friends are people to have fun with, not fight with.' "In the classroom, Molly and Sara are working side by side at two easels. Molly reaches to paint on Sara's picture and they tussle, knocking the paint jar on the floor. They argue and are still angry when Mr. Martin, the kindergarten teacher, calls the class together for a story. The story is about a bee and a butterfly who gets into a fight but realize they miss each other's company and so become friends again. "Molly realized that she misses being Sara's friend and apologized to her for painting on her picture. They become friends again." "Later, Sam apologizes to Sally and she admits she had been talking too much. They reestablish their friendship. --1983 Peabody Awards entry form.
