"Many important figures from varied fields of endeavor visit the Madison campus of the University of Wisconsin during the year. One such distinguished visitor in November 1970 was Lord Caradon, former British Ambassador to the United Nations. "WHA, in its 'Conversation With Lord Caradon,' was able to elicit observations from the experienced diplomat regarding his view of the UN after 25 years, the Middle East problems, and Cyprus (where he was Governor, as Sir Hugh Foot). Lord Caradon also expressed candidly his thoughts about greater international cooperation and understanding, and how it can be achieved."--1970 Peabody Awards entry form.
