- Description
- Episode Description
- This episode features a discussion of UNESCO with Dr. Gerald Wendt, "Former dean, School of Chemistry and Physics, Penn. State University: Science Editor of Time Magazine. President, UNESCO Publications Center."-- accompanying description.
- Series Description
- "This program series is broadcast each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, 2:30-2:55 P.M. Each program is a conversation between Lee Graham and her guest, a person whose achievements and background are qualifications for speaking with authority, interest, and insight on the chosen topic. "Lee Graham researches the material carefully, and prepares an outline in advance. However, to preserve spontaneity, the conversation is not rehearsed, nor are questions shown to the guest. "The objective is to develop in breadth and depth some aspect of international relations; to provide information on a nation or a people; or to illustrate factors of universal common interest and purpose. This gives listeners a basis for understanding that men are and will continue to be different [...]but that they can nevertheless be friends."--1962 Peabody Awards entry form.
