"The Alabama Experience is television's most complete and compelling look at Alabama. Twice each week this award winning documentary thoughtfully examines Alabama's fascinating people and remarkable history. ... No Excuses [presents] intimate portraits of three athletes with Alabama ties who participated in the Fourth [i.e. Tenth] Paralympic Games last summer in Atlanta. Featured: powerlifter Mitch Strickland; basketball player Ronda Jarvis; and [African-American] discus thrower Willard Brooks, Jr."--Alabama Experience WWW site. Includes footage of each athlete in training and in competition at the Paralympics; the athletes provide voiceover narration. Includes interviews with families, co-workers, coaches, and Paralympic officals, and excerpts of speeches by President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. Also includes footage of Strickland and Jarvis at work; Strickland carrying the torch; Willard attending church and receiving an award; and portions of the opening ceremonies.
