Good evening and welcome to the upper Cumberland camera later on tonight show we'll see highlights of the recent International Folk Dance held at Cookeville high school and we'll have a preview of this week's Senior Olympics. But first tonight this story recently Gainsborough Tennessee was the site of the 8th Annual Polk Salad festival sponsored by the Gainsborough Jaycees. The festival is a three day celebration of crafts competitions and music all in honor of that traditional gourmet treat Polk Salad. We visited the festival on Saturday a day of racing crafts and good music. This isn't new for. You.

May is older Americans Month and in celebration of that event. The upper Cumberland area Agency on Aging will sponsor the third annual senior Olympics on Friday May 24th at Sherlock park on the Tennessee Tech campus. One of the Olympic events is bowling. And recently a bowling world in Cookeville we visited Lewis and Katherine Haney and they told us what they like about bowling in the Senior Olympics. I don't know why she. Goes out there.
No. I think they're great. Hope they all get along well and everybody else is the one. Guy you're competing against next to you next year. That there is the. You're not happy. It's. Just the. See everybody but. Other activities in the Senior Olympics on Friday will be golf putting swimming tennis one mile walk and run shuffleboard horseshoes and a basketball and softball thrown. There will also be other games and activities for the 500 seniors expected from the 14 county upper Linaria. That's the Senior Olympics. Friday May 24th at Sherlock park on the Tech campus. Earlier this month. Cookeville high school was the scene of an evening of international folk dancing
sponsored by the Cookeville Jaycees. The audience was entertained by the heart some folk dancers from Cookeville West German dancers stood Gardiner's feel Cree's Yugoslavian Folk-Lore ensemble Zorah and the Rutherford County square dancers and Cripple Creek cloggers.
