- PFLAG Board member, VP of No Age and Archivist of Krewe Armenious [sp] Frank Abbruscato describes his coming out experience and how he became an advocate. His story precludes the AIDS crisis; and includes contextual details about LGBTQ activism in New York up to and during the emergence of AIDS in the US, including introduction of HIV testing. Discussion includes reference to historical difficulties for LGBTQ communities and combating lack of knowledge about many LGBTQ experiences; and recognition of ongoing threats to rights for LGBTQ+ people. PSA: Preparing for hurricane season by watching for and avoiding flooded streets. PSA: Sharing locations of in-person PFLAG monthly support meetings.
